Olive “Nancy” Slee

Olive “Nancy” Slee, 77, of Butler passed away peacefully in her home Feb. 21.

Olive was born on Feb. 2, 1942, in Punxsutawney, to Elmer Edwin Snyder and Roseanna Snyder.

As one of 13 children, she grew up working on her parents' farm.

She married George Dewey Slee Jr. in 1972, and they lived together in Punxsutawney before moving and settling down in Butler.

Olive enjoyed collecting wolf and Coca-Cola memorabilia. She was an avid bingo player and she enjoyed making afghans for her friends and loved ones.

Some of her favorite things to do included watching “The Rifleman” and spending time with her family and friends.

Olive's sense of humor was one-of-a-kind; she was always looking to make people smile and laugh with her witty remarks.

Olive is survived by her daughter, Sheila Fierst; her grandson, Justin Fierst; and six brothers.

SLEE — Friends and family of Olive “Nancy” Slee, who died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, are invited to share a day celebrating her life on Saturday. The gathering will be held at her home in Butler.
