CRANBERRY TWP - Ground was broken Friday morning at the site of Charter Homes' Meeder neighborhood.

The development is situated on the 57-acre site of the former Meeder family farm at the corner of Route 19 and Rochester Road in the township.

The $210 million mixed-use development will consist of 637 living units and spaces for small retail and office use. It will also have public squares, parks and gathering places connected by walkways.

As part of the work, significant improvements will be made to Rochester and Unionville roads in addition to an internal road network.

Different stages of the multi-phase construction project are expected to take place over the next six or seven years.
