After putting out the fire Wednesday evening, firefighters deemed this Connoquenessing Township home a total loss.

CONNOQUENESSING TWP — A fire Wednesday evening devastated a home in the Woodlands neighborhood of Connoquenessing Township.

Firefighters arrived on scene around 6 p.m., but by the time they wrapped up at 7:30 p.m., the trailer at 333 Fawn Drive was thought to be a total loss, according to Connoquenessing Township Chief Lou Zimmerman Jr.

Zimmerman said the homeowner and his girlfriend were home at the time of the fire.

“He was working outside in the yard,” Zimmerman said.

Zimmerman said it appears as though the fire started inside the structure. He said the girlfriend was inside at the time, but she escaped unharmed.

The homeowner was treated on the scene for a lacerated hand.

Zimmerman said the kitchen area appeared to be the hottest area, but the cause of the blaze was still unknown.

The home was not insured.
