Jane P. Freiters, 76, of Chicora passed away Tuesday surrounded by her family in the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

She was born Dec. 3, 1942, in Apollo, Armstrong County, and was the daughter of the late Floyd and Margaret Turner Snyder.

She worked at Magnetics in East Butler for 42 years. Her last job there was a bobbin winder.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora.

She enjoyed gambling at the casinos, being with family and friends, and going to parties. In her younger years, she particularly liked square dancing.

Jane is survived by her husband, Charles A. Freiters, whom she married July 29, 1978; two sisters and her brothers-in-law, Laura and Harry “Gene” Wiles, of East Brady, and Martha and Frank Kennedy of Renfrew; her brother and sister-in-law, Donald “Duke” and Rita Snyder of Cabot; a sister-in-law, Rose Snyder of Chicora; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, John Snyder, Ray Snyder and an infant brother.

FREITERS — Friends of Jane P. Freiters, who died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora.Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Road, Chicora, with the Rev.
