Noble Ray Miller

Noble Ray Miller, 74, of Greenville, formerly of Slippery Rock, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening at home.

Noble was born Aug. 1, 1944, in Canton, Ohio, to Charles Francis and Dortha Lucille (Culler) Miller.

He married Velma Jean Brewster on Feb. 6, 1965, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 1, 2011.

After graduating from Slippery Rock High School, Noble enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country in Vietnam.

After he returned, he spent most of his professional career working at Universal Refractories in Wampum, Pa.

Noble enjoyed camping, boating and spending time with his family and friends.

Noble was also an avid car enthusiast with his most recent project being his beloved dune buggy.

He will be missed by all of those who loved and cared for him.

Survivors include two daughters, Diana Lynn and her husband, Ronald Hennel, of Frisco, Texas, and Melissa Ann and her husband, Scott Miller, of Carlton, Pa.; as well as five grandchildren, Kali, Hayden, Kendall, Alex, and Ben and his fiancée, Mary Jones, of Greenville.

He also leaves behind a brother, Dale Miller of Greenville; two sisters, Leila McDowell of Grove City and Norma Stoops of Harmony; as well as various nieces and nephews.

Noble was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

MILLER — Friends of Noble Ray Miller, who died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.A funeral service will follow immediately at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Robinson of the First Church of God in Greenville presiding.Interment will be in the Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
