Margaret “Peggy” Hemphill

Margaret “Peggy” Hemphill, 72, formerly of Emlenton and Chicora passed away Saturday at Sugarcreek Station in Franklin.

Born Jan. 7, 1947, Peggy was the daughter of Jean Merchant Scott of Emlenton and the late D. Joseph Kusick.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Peggy was a 1965 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School.

She had been employed at the Parker Glass Plant and also in the janitorial department of Chicora Elementary School.

She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter and helping others.

In addition to her mother, Peggy is survived by a son, Mark Hemphill of Chicora; a granddaughter, Adisyn J. Hemphill of Clintonville; three brothers, Rick Scott of Emlenton, Bill Kusick and his wife, Elaine, of Chicora, and Tom Kusick and his wife, Lee Ann, of Karns City; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Peggy was preceded in death by her stepdad, Hugh R. “Dick” Scott; and a brother, Joseph Kusick, who was killed in action in Vietnam.

HEMPHILL — Friends of Margaret “Peggy” Hemphill, who died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hile Funeral Home, 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton.Interment will follow at Crawford Memorial Cemetery in Emlenton.Memorial contributions in Peggy's memory may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association at https://www.apdaparkinson.org.Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
