Janet B. Aspelin
Janet B. Aspelin, 91, of Butler passed away Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 5, 1927, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late John Barnhart and the late Sadie (Schlagel) Barnhart.
Mrs. Aspelin was a homemaker and, in her earlier days, she was a telephone operator in the Butler area.
She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, where she was very active serving as the financial secretary for decades and funeral dinner coordinator, as well as a member of the knitting club.
Mrs. Aspelin enjoyed crocheting and knitting and giving out her work as presents to everyone that she knew.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen (William) Cranmer of Butler and Carol Achezinski of Connoquenessing; six grandchildren, Christopher (Melissa) Andrews, David (Kimberly) Andrews, Nathan (Kaitlynn) Aspelin, Joshua Cranmer, Jeffrey Achezinski and Megan Achezinski; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester O. Aspelin, whom she married on Nov. 26, 1948, and who passed away on Jan. 22, 2018; and also by one daughter, Barbara Andrews.
ASPELIN — There will be no public visitation for Janet B. Aspelin, who died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019.Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N.
