Police seize marijuana, cash
FAIRVIEW TWP — State narcotics agents arrested a suspected marijuana dealer Wednesday at his township home, where authorities say they seized about three ounces of marijuana and more than $6,000 in currency.
Tanner J. Kerschbaumer, 25, was arraigned on seven felony charges stemming from the investigation by Pennsylvania's Office of the Attorney General's Bureau of Narcotics.
He is being held in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail.
Investigators allege Kerschbaumer sold one-quarter pound, or four ounces, of marijuana to a police informant in a Feb. 12 controlled buy. The deal was for $550.
A second similar buy occurred March 10. Both deals, according to charging documents, were set up by cell phone between the defendant and informant.
Agents obtained a search warrant Wednesday for Kerschbaumer's home at Glenford Village.
The search turned up about three ounces of suspected marijuana, a bag containing what appeared to be Adderall pills, drug contraband and $6,180 in currency, documents said.
District Judge Wayne Seibel arraigned Kerschbaumer on two counts each of delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility and three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, all felonies.
He also is charged with three misdemeanor counts each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His preliminary hearing was tentatively scheduled for March 26 at the office of District Judge Lewis Stoughton in Chicora.
