Unofficial candidates list released for 2020 elections
Most countywide officeholders in Butler County appear to be shoe-ins for re-election, according to the unofficial candidate list for the May 21 primary released Tuesday evening by the Butler County Bureau of Elections.
The 2019 deadline for candidates to file nominating petitions passed at 5 p.m. with no apparent surprises.
County Commissioners Kevin Boozel, Kim Geyer and Leslie Osche have no primary challengers. The same goes for District Attorney Richard Goldinger, Recorder of Deeds Michele Mustello, Register of Wills/Clerk of Orphans Court Sarah Edwards and Treasurer Diane Marburger.
Barring any write-in candidacies, they also seem to have a clear path in the fall election.
But there will be two countywide races in the primary: for Commons Pleas Court judge and prothonotary.
