Three Butler County residents linked to attempted home invasion
Three Butler County residents linked to an attempted Allegheny County home invasion are behind bars this morning. According to authorities, one of the suspects allegedly identified himself as a police officer during the crime.
Kelsey B. Carter, 26, of Prospect, and Ryan Muma, 23, of Portersville, were arrested Thursday by Scott Township police in connection to the Feb. 20 would-be burglary of the occupied home. According to authorities, Muma identified himself as a police officer.
Both suspects were arraigned on charges of attempted robbery and conspiracy. They are currently in the Allegheny County Jail on $25,000 bail each.
Police said a third suspect, 40-year-old Dawn R. Eckert of Marion Township faces similar charges.
Eckert is in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail on separate felony drug charges. She was arrested Wednesday by Slippery Rock police following a drug bust at a Spruce Drive apartment.
