CONCORD TWP — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle at about 9 p.m. Saturday on Oneida Valley Road about a half-mile south of its intersection with Hooker Road, according to first responders.

Jennifer Shoaf, 37, of Concord Township died from blunt force trauma after being struck by a vehicle, according to William Young III, Butler County coroner.

Young said Shoaf had fallen onto the road and was on the ground when she was hit. He said she was dressed in dark colors and would have been hard to see at night.

Crash investigators were called to the scene along with volunteer fire departments from West Sunbury and North Washington.

Chief Bruce Confer of the North Washington VFD said the incident was called in as an accident involving a pedestrian with injuries. However, when responders arrived at the scene, the pedestrian had died.

Confer said fire crews assisted with closing and clearing Oneida Valley Road. He said the firefighters also helped light the scene for state troopers during their investigation.

The state police did not have a news release available Sunday evening.
