State police issue new 'Five Most Wanted' list

State police have released their latest "Five Most Wanted" poster of fugitives sought for charges in the Troop D area that covers Butler, Armstrong, Beaver, Lawrence and Mercer counties. Police came up with the initiative to enlist the public's help in locating some of the hardest to find suspects.

A new most wanted poster has been released by state police Troop D based in Butler.

Three of the five featured fugitives are accused of crimes that include theft, assault and failing to register as a sex offender.

Two of the sought-after suspects are holdovers from last month’s inaugural poster.

The idea of the “Five Most Wanted” campaign was to elicit the public’s help in finding hard-to-find defendants on the lam.

Those named and pictured on the poster, said Trooper Ron Kester, a public information officer, are not regarded as the most dangerous but who have been deemed — for now — as the hardest to find.
