Shots fired into city home overnight, suspect arraigned
A Butler man is being arraigned this morning following a Wednesday night drug deal gone bad that resulted in shots being fired into a Walker Avenue home.
Michael J. Smith, 45, of 103 Summer St., faces eight counts — including five felonies and three misdemeanors. Smith is being arraigned now at the office of District Judge William Fullerton in Butler.
According to a press release issued by Butler Police Chief Bob O'Neill, Smith allegedly fired two rounds from a .380-caliber pistol into a home on the 100 block of Walker Avenue.
O'Neill reported Smith knew the 43-year-old victim in the shooting and had allegedly been involved in a drug deal with him earlier in the evening.
