A birthday tribute to my husband, Ernie Baxter, who would be 89 today.

My life goes on without you,

But nothing is the same.

I have to hide the heartache,

When someone speaks your name.

I blow you kisses to the sky,

And off to you I let them fly.

Each one a wish I wrap in love

Then send to you so high above.

I feel you watching as I do,

And know you hear each “I love you.”

I wish you were hear today,

For even just a while.

So I could say Happy Birthday,

And sit with you a while.
