Roland Robert Skeen

Roland Robert Skeen, 88, of Butler passed on to God Saturday at Shelbourne Personal Care.

Roland was born in 1930 to Roland and Frances (Hannenburg) Skeen.

He was the middle son of four siblings; Virginia O.S.F., Arthur and Francis.

He married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Seitz, and raised two children, Steven (Christine) and Karen (Frederick) Skrocki.

He was the grandfather of Heather Ruden, Jordan Skeen and Lauren Skrocki.

As a younger man, Roland was a Silver Beaver Scout.

He served in the Air Force in the Korean War, and has been a member of the North Hills Masons for 50 years.

Reverend Roland was a minister for 30 years in the Evangelical and Reformed U.C.C. and preached at St. Peters on Lemmington Avenue in Pittsburgh.

He enjoyed outdoors, sports and going out to breakfast.

He relished new baseball caps, a good book and doughnuts.

He was a loving husband, father, and doting grandfather, as well as a caring friend and neighbor to many.

The family would like to give a special thank you to his friends and caregivers at Shelbourne and Heartland Hospice.

SKEEN — Private services and interment will be held for Roland Skeen, who died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019.Arrangements are under the direction of Devlin Funeral Home.
