Norman E. Risinger

Norman E. Risinger, 82, of Hooker Road, Karns City, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Thursday morning at his home.

Norman was born Aug. 14, 1936, in Karns City. He was the son of the late John and Nellie Jordan Risinger.

He attended Karns City schools and was of the Baptist faith.

Norman was a retired coal miner.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working outside.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria M. Fleeger Risinger, whom he married July 2, 1960, in Chicora.

Also surviving are two children, Beverly A. Risinger and her fiancé, Jurgen, of Karns City and Thomas E. Risinger of Karns City; three grandchildren, David Morrison and his wife, Melissa, of Emlenton, Joshua Morrison and his wife, Kelsey, of Butler and Katrina Mangini of Vandergrift; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Melvin Risinger and his wife, Julia, of West Freedom; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Risinger, who died in 2004; and a brother, Leonard Risinger.

RISINGER — Friends of Norman E. Risinger, who died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home with the Rev. Paul DeBacco, pastor of the Criswell Bible Baptist Church officiating.Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.Military honors will be accorded by the Chicora, East Brady and Bradys Bend American Legion Posts.For additional information or to send a condolence, please visit www.hilefh.com.
