Marian J. Christy
Marian J. Christy, 85, of Chicora passed away Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 10, 1933, in Butler, and was a daughter of the late Clifford Covert and the late Ethel King Covert.
Marian worked as a research metallurgist at Magnetics in East Butler, retiring in 1993.
She loved watching Pittsburgh sports teams.
Marian was a Presbyterian by faith.
She is survived by her two sons, Terry L. (Helen) Christy of Fenelton and Robert J. Christy of Chicora; two grandchildren, Jeremy J. (Lidija) Christy of Cranberry Township and Elizabeth M. Christy and her fiancé, Abe Noysser of Butler; one sister, Anna Mae (Gene) Webb of Butler; her nephew-niece, Donald and Tana Webb and their children, Corry Webb and Amanda Webb; and numerous other nephews, nieces and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Christy, whom she married on May 29, 1952, and who passed away Oct. 24, 2001; and two brothers, Melvin Covert and Frederick Covert.
CHRISTY — A memorial service for Marian J. Christy, who died Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
