Margaret Anne Wahl

Margaret Anne Wahl, 89, of Butler passed away at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday at the Concordia at Rebecca Residence in Allison Park.

She was born Feb. 23, 1929, in Jeannette, and was a daughter of the late Arthur L. Briggs and the late Dolly Loughner Briggs.

Mrs. Wahl worked as a salesperson for J.C. Penney Co. for 27 years. She then worked for Sears Roebuck Co. of Butler, retiring in 2008.

Mrs. Wahl was a member of First English Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Wahl of Butler, and Al Wahl and his wife, Susan, of Butler; one daughter, Diane Wahl of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dolly L. Kaster of Titusville, and Sally A. Gustafson Weise and her husband, Robert, of Dayton, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Gloria Briggs of Connoquenessing; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Wahl, whom she married on April 15, 1950, and who passed away on Oct. 24, 2012; two brothers, Arthur J. Briggs and Roy S. Briggs; and one sister, Irene F. Spinks.

WAHL — Friends of Margaret Anne Wahl, who died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Private funeral services for family only will be held on Saturday at the funeral with Pastor Kimberly van Driel of First English Lutheran officiating.Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater PA, Pittsburgh Office, 1100 Liberty Ave., Ste. 210, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
