Richard A. Seybolt

Richard A. Seybolt, 73, of New Castle passed away Tuesday morning at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born Aug. 20, 1945, in New Castle, he was the son of John and Miriam G. Shaffer Seybolt.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy (Young) Seybolt, whom he married July 1, 1972.

Dick attended New Castle High School and West Penn Tech in Pittsburgh.

He was employed as a field engineer with Penn Power in both New Castle and Zelienople. Before that, he worked for Henkels & McCoy Inc. as a contract engineer and was a self-employed electrician with Seybolt Electrical, along with his son, Allan.

He was a past master of the Mahoning Lodge 243 and a 32nd degree Mason in the Scottish Rite.

He was of Protestant faith.

Dick truly loved and took care of his family. He was blessed with a granddaughter, Alaina Jade, born Oct. 26, 2017. Alaina brought sunshine to many cloudy days.

Dick enjoyed summers when he and Nancy took out their classic Mustang and were able to meet other car enthusiasts at various events.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Melissa Jean Seybolt of Titusville, and her significant other, Bryan Lemley; one son, Allan R. Seybolt, and his wife, Megan, of New Castle; one sister, Marilyn Cook, and her husband, Charles, of New Castle; and one granddaughter, Alaina Jade Seybolt.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

SEYBOLT — Visitation for Richard A. Seybolt, who died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ron Eade officiating.Burial will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery.Online condolences may be offered at www.cunninghamfh.com
