Ice jam occurs in East Brady

The ice is jammed up again in East Brady

The frigid temperatures have once again caused the Allegheny River in East Brady and other towns to the north to heave up stacks of ice.

A member of the East Brady Volunteer Fire Department said on Sunday night that the ice is not posing any danger to structures, bridges or the community.

He said the sustained cold temperatures caused ice on the river to stop and jam up, and the weekend’s comparatively warm weather did not budge the broken and motionless ice.

The last ice jam was in January 2018.
