Edward Richard Zabicki

Edward Richard Zabicki

Edward Richard Zabicki, 92, of Highfield, Butler Township, passed away Sunday morning at Chicora Medical Center.

Born Oct. 10, 1926, in Bredinville, Butler County, he was the son of Adam Zabicki and Barbara Ostesiewicz Zabicki Seezox.

Ed was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, mainly in the Occupation of Japan until 1947. Amazingly, he was accepted into the service with sight in only one eye and still qualified as a sharpshooter.

By trade, he was an auto body repair man and painter working at Car Care Autobody for many years.

Ed enjoyed catch and release fishing and had a “green thumb,” in which he would share his abundance of produce with family and friends.

Ed was sharp as a whip, always had a quick comeback and will be sadly missed for his great sense of humor.

Ed was a life-long member of the American Legion and a member of St. Stanislaus Polska Catholic Church in Lyndora.

He is survived by his loving nephew, Phil Loverick Sr., who cared for Ed for many years; along with numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews, and greatgreat-nieces and great great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley (Sophie) Zabicki; and his sisters, Helen (Philip) Loverick, Stella (John) Wolenski, Virginia (Louis) Nagy, Lydia (John) Gordon and Veronica Seezox (Ray) Sadowski; and three nieces and three nephews.
