Dawn Cratty

Dawn Cratty, 68, of Butler went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday.

Dawn was born Dec. 31, 1949, in Butler. She was the daughter of Louis E. Shields and Jean (French) Shields.

She was a 1968 Slippery Rock High School graduate. She also graduated from Butler Beauty School.

Dawn held several positions through the years. She was a beautician, former employee of Magnetics and American Glass Research and a delivery driver for McConnell's Auto Parts.

She married Gordon Cratty on April 19, 1969, at Mount Zion Baptist Church of Prospect.

She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and love for her family.

Cooking was her hobby, her skill and her way of showing love. She had a servant's heart. She saw the needs of others and responded.

Surviving are her husband, Gordon; her sister, Robin Matthews of Butler; a brother, Gary Shields (Cheryl) of Prospect; and two sisters-in-law, Marion Talbert of Eau Claire, and Nancy Vierthaler of Slippery Rock.

She will also be lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

CRATTY — At the request of the deceased, a private family service will be held at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home for Dawn Cratty, who died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018.Those who so desire may make a memorial donation in memory of Dawn to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
