Judge denies Dischman's request to be taken off house arrest

A judge on Thursday denied a Butler woman's request that she be taken off house arrest as part of her bond in an ongoing case.

Kasey R. Dischman, 32, faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Butler County's District Attorney's office attempted to prosecute her with a felony charge, but it was dropped after local and state courts found that the charge violated a state law that protects pregnant women. As part of her bond in the case, a Butler judge put her on house arrest until the case is resolved.

Appearing in court on Thursday, Dischman told Judge William Shaffer that she works regularly at a restaurant and has abided the law.

“I'm not a flight risk. I'm not going anywhere,” Dischman said. “I plan to be here for my children. I'm planning to get them back.”
