Moniteau's 2019 PIAA Competitive Spirit Championships cheer team

HERSHEY — Moniteau's competitive cheer team is moving onto the PIAA Competitive Spirit Championships semifinals in Hershey on Saturday.

The team competed in the medium varsity division against 35 other teams split in two brackets of 18.

Moniteau finished with an average score of 73.6 from three judges, placing 7th in the preliminary round of their bracket, according to a chart released on the PIAA's website.

The PIAA Competitive Spirit Championships semifinals will occur Saturday morning.

Karns City's cheer team was competing in this year's championship in the same division but in the other bracket. Karns City placed 15th in their bracket and will not be moving on to the semifinals.
