Man on probation gets three of his guns back
A Portersville man on probation for pleading guilty in a case in which he threatened another person with a rifle will be reunited with three of his four guns that state police confiscated from him when he was arrested in 2017.
Walter M. Madden, 68, asked the court to return his property, including the guns, that was taken from him at the time of his arrest. And on Wednesday, Judge Timothy McCune partly accepted Madden’s request by allowing him to take back possession of three guns. A fourth gun, however, will not be given back to him since it was used by Madden in an attempt to threaten someone. As part of Madden’s probation, he is not allowed to purchase firearms, but he is permitted to retain ownership of guns that he had already purchased.
