The man in charge of Slippery Rock Towing and Repair was arrested and charged last month with forgery.

Greg Geibel of Slippery Rock was charged Dec. 21 with the felony charge.

Geibel has been operating the towing business on behalf of Ryan Williams, who is incarcerated at Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, SCI Huntingdon, according to court documents.

Williams called Slippery Rock Police Chief Terry Fedokovitz Dec. 4 to report an issue with Geibel.

Williams told Fedokovitz that Geibel went to Megan Browne Notary Public in Grove City to have a Power of Attorney form signed regarding a 1989 Chevrolet 3500 truck, according to the report.

The report said a mutual friend of both men sent a copy of the form to the police.

On the form, Geibel was listed as the applicant, identified by his name and driver's license number.

In his report, Fedokovitz said the form was notarized on March 23, 2017, but Ryan Williams had been in prison since 2016 and could not have been present to sign the document.

“I also looked at other known documents that have Williams' signature on (them) and an example of William's signature that was done in the presence of a corrections officer on Dec. 4,” Fedokovitz said in the report. “Neither of these signatures are close to matching what is on the notarized document.”

Slippery Rock police executed a search warrant of the notary company that was granted by District Judge Neil McEwen in Grove City. Browne showed the log book for the transaction. In the book, it was noted that Williams was not present at the time of the signature.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday.
