Frank R. Pinto

Frank R. Pinto, 94, of Butler Township passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday.

Born Oct. 7, 1924, in Butler, he was the son of the late Vito Giovanni Pinto and Leonarda Monaco Pinto.

Frank was employed by ARMCO for 35 years. He was a driver for the Butler Eagle for 25 years and Kiddie City for seven years.

He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting activities, playing cards, taking casino trips and his weekly visits to the VA. He traveled with his family to Italy and throughout the United States.

He was most proud of his military service in World War II and would often share his Army stories with everyone. Serving in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946, he was engaged in the Battle of the Bulge, Northern France, Central Europe and the Rhineland. Frank was proud to honor his 559 AAA BN in the Butler parades.

Frank was the loving father of four, the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and great-grandfather of nine.

Frank leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, John (JoAnne “Sis”) Pinto of Renfrew, Joseph (Corine) Pinto of Butler, Frank (Barbara) Pinto Jr. of Wilmington, N.C., and Lisa Pinto of Butler; his 10 grandchildren, John (Diana) Pinto, Nicole (Jon) Cuny, Nina (Mario) DeGisi, Aaron Pinto, Michael (Mary) Pinto, Dominic (Erin) Pinto, Anthony (Betsy) Pinto, Frederic Pinto, Matthew Baranchak, and Luke Baranchak; four great-granddaughters; five great-grandsons; his brother-in-law, Michael Barbetta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Lucia Barbetta Pinto, who passed away Jan. 20, 1986; and nine siblings.

PINTO — Friends of Frank R. Pinto, who died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.The bereavement committee of St. Michael the Archangel Parish will assemble at 3 p.m. Friday to recite prayers.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, 432 Center Ave., Butler, with the Rev. Father William D. Wuenschel celebrant.Frank will be laid to rest at the St. Michael Cemetery in Butler.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to Butler Catholic School, 515 E. Locust St., Butler, PA 16001, or to the St. Michael the Archangel Parish, or to the VA Adult Day Health Care Program, 353 N.
