Injuries reported in crash
BUTLER TWP — Police said they cited a Sligo man after his involvement in a two-vehicle crash at about 6:24 p.m. Friday on Route 422.
Samuel Salizzoni, 80, was driving in the eastbound right lane in a Dodge Durango when he tried to merge into the left lane and struck a GMC Terrain, driven by Robert Wilhelm, 40, of Petrolia, according to the police report.
Both vehicles struck the center barrier, and Salizzoni’s vehicle spun to rest perpendicular with the road, according to police.
Wilhelm had three passengers in the vehicle, a 13-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy, and a 40-year-old man, all of Butler, who suffered unspecified injuries, police said.
Salizzoni’s vehicle sustained disabling damage to the driver’s side rear tire housing, but Wilhelm was able to drive his SUV to Butler Memorial Hospital, where his passengers were treated, according to the report.
