Kenneth Robert Armstrong

Kenneth Robert Armstrong, 66, of Slippery Rock passed away at his home on Wednesday.

He was born June 23, 1952, in Grove City to Robert Elmer Armstrong and Pauline Irene Ritenour Armstrong.

He married Ruth Ann Herold on May 9, 1971, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 14, 2000.

Ken worked at Cooper Bessemer in Grove City in the maintenance department until his hunting accident, which occurred in October of 1980.

He was a lifelong member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

He enjoyed hunting, cars and riding around in his 1937 Chevy Sedan delivery paneled truck. He was well known for sitting outside his garage and waving to everyone who passed by. Utmost in his life, he loved his family and his Lord.

He is survived by his three daughters, Cheri J. (Daniel) Linamen of Harrisville, Leslie D. (John) McGowan of North East, Pa., and Bobbi K. (Richard) Atwell of Slippery Rock; his granddaughters, Jordyn and Brooke Burnett; his mother-in-law, June Herold of Butler; his sisters-in-law, Vicky (Gary) Link of Canton, Ohio, and Trudy (Mark) Snodgrass of West Sunbury.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his father-in-law, Lawrence “Sonny” Herold.

ARMSTRONG — The family of Kenneth Robert Armstrong, who died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.The family will hold funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 443 N. Main St., Harrisville, with Pastor Peter Puliatti presiding.Interment will be at New Hope Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Slippery Rock Rescue Team, P.O. Box 117, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
