Driver falls asleep
An 86-year-old Slippery Rock woman told police that she fell asleep while driving on Route 8 in Brady Township about 2 p.m. Wednesday. State police reported that her Subaru Legacy struck a mailbox on her right, then swerved left across the lane of oncoming traffic, wedging between two trees. The woman was transferred from the scene to be treated for what she described as chest pain.
