BRADY TWP — An 86-year-old woman from Slippery Rock fell asleep while driving on Route 8 and ended up wedging her car between two trees, according to state police.

The woman was transferred from the scene to be treated for seemingly mild injuries. She described having chest pain.

Police declined to immediately release her name.

The vehicle was headed north. She struck a mailbox on her right, then swerved to the left, crossing the oncoming lane of traffic and hitting the trees.
