Susan Lynn Smochek

Susan Lynn Smochek of Slippery Rock passed away at home on Sunday at 64 years of age.

She was born on March 21, 1954, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late Ralph J. and Helen (Grossman) Mahoney.

She was raised Protestant.

Susan married Raymond T. Smochek on June 23, 1973.

She graduated from Butler High School and attended Butler County Community College.

Susan worked as a teller for Mellon Bank.

She enjoyed baking and working on crafts, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

Susan is survived by her husband; two daughters, Christine (Ron) Jesteadt of Slippery Rock, and Jennifer (Corey) Robinson of Slippery Rock; three sons, Eric (Caterina) Smochek of Boyers, Michael (Christina) Smochek of Prospect, and Josh (Ashlee) Smochek of Portersville; three sisters, Joyce Davis of Warren, Ohio, Karen Fisher of Seattle, Wash., and Amy Bruno of Branchton, Pa.; nine grandchildren, Blake, Dylan, Devan, Molly, Owen, Samuel, Annabelle, Dominic and Ellianna.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

SMOCHEK — Visitation for Susan Lynn Smochek, who died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.There will be a prayer service during visitation at 6:30 p.m.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday at St. Peters Church, 670 S. Main St., Slippery Rock. The family will receive friends one hour before service.Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Harrisville.Memorial contributions may be sent to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
