BUTLER TWP — There appears to be no relief in the rash of vehicle break-ins that have plagued the township for weeks.

At least eight vehicles were ransacked overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, according to Butler Township police.

The vehicles were apparently unlocked and parked on Kennedy, Kerry, Longview and Magnolia drives. Currency and coins were the primary items reportedly taken.

Two days earlier, five vehicles — three on Morningside Drive and two on Dolphin Drive — were ransacked sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning. Police believe those vehicles, too, were not locked.

Police continue to urge residents to lock their vehicles and remove their valuables.
