Fence stuck in house after van crashes

This piece of a fence was pushed into a home on East Portersville Road, after a van ran off the road Friday and crashed through it, police said.

A Butler man is charged with driving under the influence after his vehicle crashed through a fence on East Portersville Road, knocking part of the fence into a nearby house, according to state police.

On Friday, Joseph H. Trautman, 26, was driving a minivan going east and crossed into the oncoming traffic lane, went off the berm, police said. The vehicle broke through a fence surrounding a house.

On Sunday, part of the fence could be seen poking into the nearby home, penetrating at least the outer layer.

Police said Trautman drove away but he was found nearby at his home. He admitted to police that he used drugs just before driving and, when he was searched, police found him possessing a controlled substance.

After a van crashed through a fence on East Portersville Road Friday, part of the fence can be seen Sunday still pushed into the house.
