Viola L. “Connie” Maletta
Viola L. “Connie” Maletta, 83, of Butler passed away Monday at UPMC Passavant Hospital.
Born June 16, 1935, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late John L. and the late Viola L. Green Convery.
She was a graduate of Butler High School Class of 1953.
Connie was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church and served in the RCIA program. In 2009, she and her husband, James J. Maletta, were presented with the Diocese of Pittsburgh's Manifesting the Kingdom Award in recognition of their service.
Connie enjoyed reading and sewing. In her younger years, she was a member of the C.D. of A. Drum and Bugle Corps.
Connie and Jim traveled to all 50 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands and all of the Canadian provinces.
She is survived by four children, James E. Maletta and his wife, Mary Lou, of West Allis, Wis., Judy A. Jones and her husband, Tim, of Butler, John A. Maletta and his wife, Alessandra, and Joseph P. Maletta and his wife, Wendy, both of Franklin Park; one brother, Francis J. “Bud” Convery of Butler; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by two sisters, Sister Germaine Convery, OSF, and Ruth Masters.
MALETTA — Friends of Viola L. “Connie” Maletta, who died Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N.
