Esther “Doll” Louise Knight Hanna

Esther “Doll” Louise Knight Hanna, 92, of Butler and formerly of Leesburg passed away at 5:22 a.m. Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

She was born on Aug. 2, 1926, in what was referred to as Oaks Town, located in Springfield Township, Mercer County, to Jesse Knight and Sara Jane Curtis Knight.

She married Raymond Leroy Hanna on June 22, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1976.

She had worked as a nurse's aide and last worked at McFarland's Personal Care Home in Leesburg.

She had been a former member of the Leesburg Presbyterian Church and enjoyed reading and baking.

Survivors include two daughters, Roberta S. (Thomas) McGregor of Butler, and Charlene Y. (Paul) Daugherty of Bulger, Pa.; two sons, David L. Hanna of Albion, Pa., and Raymond E. Hanna of Grove City; a sister, Wanda (Collins) Hair of Latrobe, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carolyn J. Shearer; two sisters, Ethel Masajada and Ruth Butler; two brothers, Charles and Clarence; and four grandsons, Raymond, Jeff, Joshua and David.

HANNA — The family of Esther “Doll” Louise Knight Hanna, who died Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, will receive friends from 4 p.m. until service at 7 p.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home, the Village of Leesburg, 1778 Perry Hwy., Volant.Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Private interment will be on Friday at Carpenter Cemetery, Springfield Township.
