Barry McCarthy
Barry McCarthy, 72, of Butler passed away on Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Born April 12, 1946, in Brockton, Mass., he was the son of the late Francis McCarthy and the late Winifred Blakeman McCarthy.
Barry was a graduate of Stonehill College in Massachusetts. He then attended Boston College Law School for his J.D. and Columbia University for his LL.M.
He was a professor for the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, retiring after 38 years. We bought a farm so we could say he was outstanding in his field.
Surviving are his loving wife, Carol Mills McCarthy, whom he married May 24, 1975; his sisters, Laurie Kelliher of Whitman, Mass., and Anne Sullivan of Whitman, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John “Jack” Francis McCarthy.
