Louis H. Hester
Louis H. Hester, 83, of Saxonburg passed from this world and entered into the next on Tuesday taking his last breath from his loving wife.
Born March 18, 1935, in Wilkinsburg, he was a son of the late James and Helen Hester.
Louie was a good, honest and hardworking man. His work life began at a young age as a masonry helper when he left school to help support his parents. He spent his whole life working in the construction field, retiring from the Heavy Carpenter Union Local 2274.
He was quiet, unless he knew you, and then he would talk about his hunting adventures, house building tales, and athletic prowess of his youth. His tough guy exterior masked a soft and generous heart. While he was a “man's man,” he couldn't miss an episode of the soap opera, “Days of Our Lives.”
A common man, he was anything but “common” to those he loved and who loved him. Louie always worried about “his girls.”
Rest comfortably now, Louie, Dad, Pap; you taught us well … until we meet again.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 61 years, Darrel (Anker) Hester; his daughters, Kim Hester and Kelly McMahan; his granddaughter, Lauren (McMahan) and Kurt Savage; his namesake, Steele Louis Savage, who was born on Sept. 26, 2018; his fur-baby Lulu; as well as his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen Hester; his brothers, Fred, Richard, John and Robert; his in-laws, Mammy and Pappy (Alice and Jim) Anker; and a long list of fur-baby companions.
HESTER — Friends of Louis H. Hester, who died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, will be received from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev.
