Esther L. Young

Esther L. Young, 90, of Chicora passed away after an extended illness on Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept. 28, 1928, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Ralph Briggs and Mary Henry Briggs.

She was a Lutheran by faith and she had served on the council of the Chicora Commons.

She enjoyed crocheting.

Esther is survived by two sons, Marlin (Bonnie) McCahan of Lock Haven, Pa., and George (Cheri) Young of Clintonville, Pa.; a daughter, Ella (Victor) Bauldoff of Chicora; 12 grandchildren, Jason McCahan, Kelly McCahan, Amy Young, Amber Young, Gina Goodman, Holly Stants, Ronnie Young, Wyatt Young, Shadow Young, Matt Bauldoff, Brandon Bauldoff and Ryan Bauldoff; 11 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jay Briggs and Franklin Briggs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Young, whom she married March 16, 1964, and who died in September of 1984; and a son, Ronald Young.

YOUNG — Friends of Esther L. Young, who died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at STEIGHNER FUNERAL, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev.
