Naomi B. Schleiden Tokos
Naomi B. Schleiden Tokos, 79, of Middle Lancaster Township, passed away on Thursday while at home.
Born Sept. 23, 1939, in West Monterey, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Emery and Shirls Elder Clark.
Naomi was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was a member of the Zelienople congregation.
She was an avid reader and diligent student of the Bible. That study gave her confidence in the Bible's promises, which gave her comfort and the hope of being part of a peaceful new world.
She graduated in 1960 with her RN degree from Columbia Hospital and began her nursing career at Passavant Nursing Center and later at the Wexford House.
She loved nurturing and caring for people.
Naomi was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
Naomi leaves behind to cherish her memory her three daughters, Mary Schleiden of Cranberry Township, Esther Cochran and her husband, Marc, of Slippery Rock, and Anne Schleiden and her husband, Bryan Campbell, of Chicora; her four granddaughters, Julie Schleiden, Jessica Heater, Heather Hawryliak and Sidney Rose Schleiden; her great-grandchildren, Malissa, Elizabeth, Jeffrey and Kirah; her siblings, Stan Clark and his wife, Mary Lou, of Mount Lebanon, Lloyd Clark and his wife, Gloria, of Bridgeville, and Earl Clark of Florida.
In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Schleiden, who passed away in 1981; her second husband, George Tokos, who passed away in 2007; two sons, Joseph Schleiden and William Schleiden; a granddaughter, Cassandra Cochran; and four siblings, Harvey Clark, Phyllis Randolf, Sharon Pierotti and an infant brother, Gary Clark.
TOKOS — Friends of Naomi B. Schleiden Tokos, who died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A memorial service is being planned.Naomi will be laid to rest privately at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
