Paul W. Heeter

Paul W. Heeter, 90, of Butler passed away on Thursday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was a devoted father, loving husband and a special pappy. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was born April 24, 1928, in Punxsutawney, and was a son of the late Don and Nora (Armstrong) Heeter.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.

Paul retired in 1990 after 43 years of service from T.W. Philips Gas and Oil as vice president of operations.

He was a member of the Victory Lodge 694 F&AM, where he was a past master in 1969. Paul was also a member of the A.A.S.R. (Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite) Valley of New Castle.

Paul is survived by his wife, Anna L. (Thompson) Heeter, whom he married on Oct. 26, 1950; two daughters, Patricia (Joe) Birckbichler of Butler, and Cheryl (Ed) Davis of Butler; a son-in-law, Edward Lydic of Home, Pa.; five grandchildren, Sharon (Robert) Chess, Allison (Jeremy Fisher) Lydic, Amanda George, Cory (Emma) Birckbichler and Edward (Shelby) Davis; four great-grandchildren, Jakob Fisher, MaeElla George, Tessa Chess and Cooper Chess; a sister-in-law, Patricia Heeter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula (Penny) Lydic; two brothers, George W. Heeter and William H. Heeter; and one half-sister, Laura Belle Elliott.

HEETER — Friends of Paul W. Heeter, who died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Officers and members of Victory Lodge 694 F&AM will conduct a Masonic service immediately preceding the funeral service at 7 p.m.A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Sally Lydic officiating.Private burial will take place in Marion Center Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Meals on Wheels, 218 E.
