Over 120 lbs. of meth seized from car in Butler County
More than 120 pounds of suspected methamphetamine and 10 pounds of cocaine were seized from the trunk of a car in Butler County, federal authorities said.
The discovery Sunday on Interstate 79 was made during an ongoing narcotics trafficking investigation by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Durell Anthony. Jones, 33, of Fairmont, W.Va., was arrested and is charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine, and conspiracy to distribute those drugs.
He remains in federal custody at the Allegheny County Jail.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Lisa Pupo Lenihan on Monday ordered Jones held without bail until his detention hearing, which was scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday. The outcome of the hearing was not immediately known.
He faces 10 years to life in federal prison, if convicted.
