Emma Dyan Macurdy

Emma Dyan Macurdy, 88, of Cabot passed away on Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born Dec. 31, 1929, in Winfield, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Brozenick.

She worked for Moonlight Mushroom Mine.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sarver.

Emma loved cooking, baking, crafts and animalsincluding hummingbirds. She played the organ and was very skilled at crocheting.

Emma was a very devoted Christian woman who helped and participated with children and the Sunday school program.

Surviving are her sister, Jennie Owens of California; her brother-in-law, Glenn (Darlene) Macurdy of Cabot; her sisters-in-law, Sandra (Robert) Stivenson of Saxonburg and Janet Macurdy of Butler; her close niece, Laneice (Daniel) Olesnevich of Butler; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odley G. Macurdy, who passed away on July 31, 2015;four brothers; and two sisters.

MACURDY — Friends of Emma Dyan Macurdy, who died Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.Sunday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 409 Sarver Road, Sarver, with Pastor Shawn Smith officiating.Private interment will follow in Sarverville Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rainbow Animal Rescue Program, Lyndora, or St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sarver.For more information, please visit www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
