Gloria M. Thompson

Gloria M. Thompson, 81, of Valencia passed away on Tuesday at her residence.

She was born June 23, 1937, in Karns City, and was the daughter of the late Rev. Alfred H Greenawalt Sr. and the late Hazel (Roudebush) Greenawalt.

Gloria was a life member of the Church of God of Prophecy and in her younger years, had traveled with her parents all over the West doing missionary work.

She had worked at Johnston Soft Serve and at the Lyndora Hotel for 14 years.

She loved traveling, going to casinos, gardening, watching television, Elvis, cooking and baking and being with her family.

Surviving are three daughters, Karen Thompson, Sharon Ehrman and Gail Thompson; three sons, Bobby Thompson, Danny (Linda) Thompson and Larry Thompson; five grandchildren, Shelley Ehrman, Rob (Kelly) Ehrman, Leanne and Danny Thompson and a special granddaughter that she raised, Sonya and her fiancé, Sam Letizia Jr.; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Bonnie) Greenawalt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Thompson, who died on Dec. 9, 2016; a brother, Alfred H. Greenawalt Jr.; and a son-in-law, Denny Ehrman.

THOMPSON — A private visitation and service for Gloria M. Thompson, who died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, was held Thursday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Interment will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.Please visit www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
