Mary Ellen Lewis
Mary Ellen Lewis, 83, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born April 18, 1935, in St. Marys, she was a daughter of the late Charles Cornetti Sr. and Theresa Heasley Cornetti.
She had retired from Duquesne University as a secretary in the theology department, following 15 years service.
She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, where she served as Eucharistic lay minister. She was also a member of St. Paul Christian Mothers.
Mary Ellen was a member of the Sunrise Bowling League at Sherwood, the Sunrise Golf League at Stoughton Golf and the Lake Arthur Golf League.
Additionally, she was a member of the Butler Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed attending bridge clubs with her friends.
Surviving are her husband, Clarence Lewis, whom she married Jan. 22, 1955; five children: Linda Brandenburg, Lisa (Marc) Conklin, Bradley (Cynthia) Lewis, Lori (Scott) Altman and Scott (Jessica) Lewis, all of Butler; 11 grandchildren: Bret Iannotti, Ashlee Robison. Cody Conklin, Kayla Conklin; Kayla Mack, Melissa Campbell, Crysta Heeter, Emilee Altman, Alison Altman, Meghan Lewis and Madalyne Lewis; three great-grandchildren: Harper Robison, Wyatt Mack and Henlee Robison; two brothers: Thomas (Lynda) Cornetti, of Herman and Dale (Vicki) Cornetti, of Boyers; one sister, Karen Hinderliter, of East Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Cornetti Jr.; one nephew, Brian Cornetti; and one niece, Sherry Cornetti.
LEWIS — Friends of Mary Ellen Lewis, who died Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. in Butler. The Rev.
