Robert C. “Skip” Snyder Jr., 71, of Butler died unexpectedly Thursday.

Born July 14, 1947, in Rochester, Pa., he was a son of the late Robert C. Snyder Sr. and Louise (Matterness) Snyder.

Skip was a 1965 graduate of Butler High School and had worked as a salesman selling industrial fans.

He was a former member of the Meridian Vets Club, the Meridian Volunteer Fire Department and when he was younger, he was active in Meridian Little League Baseball.

He is survived by his sister, Maryellen Walter of Butler; one niece, Marianne (Tom) Norris, along with their children, Haley, Madison and Connor, all of Renfrew; and one cousin, Ron (Jane) Matterness of Mountville, Pa.
