Florence “Flo” Ann (Molesky) Rager

Florence “Flo” Ann (Molesky) Rager, 76, of Nanty-Glo, Pa., most recently of Sarver, passed peacefully to the Lord Sept. 5 while resting in hospice care in Cabot.

Florence was born Jan. 5, 1942, in Johnstown, Pa., to her parents, Frank and Elizabeth Molesky.

She graduated from Nanty-Glo Vintondale Joint High School in 1959 and attended college at Georgetown University.

She married Harvey M. Rager in 1962 and had two children, Harvey M. Rager Jr. and Cynthia “Cindy” (Rager) Michelini.

She spent most of her life as a legal secretary, starting at the Aviation Center in Washington, D.C., and later at various legal firms in Johnstown.

She served as a caregiver to various family members including her parents, husband and grandchildren, all of whom were blessed to have her care and love.

She also held various part-time positions in the communities where she lived. She was a lifelong practicing Catholic and was most recently a member of St. Mary Mother of God Church in Freeport.

Florence had a loving and compassionate personality. She was a great listener and enjoyed reading books, painting, completing crosswords from the paper, watching national news stations, especially enjoying any topic surrounding politics.

She was an activist and was always interested in positive change for our country. She was a lover of great movies, theater and cups of coffee and tea shared with those she loved.

Florence spent her life dedicated to serving others, and while others saw this as a sacrifice, she saw it as the truest expression of herself. She was pure love to all who knew her, and those who got close enough to see it were truly blessed.

She chose joy at every turn and was a gift to this world.
