Pitt grad assistants seek to form union

PITTSBURGH — Graduate assistants at the University of Pittsburgh are having their case heard over whether they can seek to unionize.

A hearing before the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board resumed Wednesday. The university says the graduate assistants are students and are not qualified to unionize.

The graduate assistants have said they want greater transparency regarding their working conditions, along with protections against discrimination and harassment.
