Lona J. Edgar

Lona J. Edgar

Lona J. Edgar, 84, of Butler passed away Tuesday after a brief illness in the home of her daughter in California.

She was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Butler, the daughter of Lewis and Madeline Jordan-Spithaler.

Lona was a 1951 graduate of Butler High School and was retired from the Butler Employment Agency.

Lona loved God first and foremost. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, with a kind and generous spirit.

She was an accomplished seamstress and musician of the piano and xylophone, both of which she loved and played for the church.

She was also an avid reader and instilled in her children a love of books and life-long learning.

Lona never met a stranger. There wasn't a crossword puzzle she wouldn't tackle or a cardboard puzzle she didn't want to finish.

Lona is survived by her son, Monty Edgar of Butler; her daughter, Sharon Hudson of Riverside, Calif.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Donald (Bud) Spithaler; and several nieces and nephews.

EDGAR — Arrangements and cremation services for Lona Jean Edgar, who died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, were entrusted to the Neptune Society of Riverside and San Bernardino in Riverside, Calif.
