Roxie Lee Grounds
Roxie Lee Grounds, 76, of Butler passed away on Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born May 31, 1942, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late Harry Hamilton and the late Mary McClain Hamilton.
Roxie was a CNA at Butler Memorial Hospital for 12 years and a secretary at Butler Transit Authority, retiring in 2000.
She enjoyed cake decorating, making floral arrangements and ceramics.
Roxie attended Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Grounds, whom she married on April 29, 1957; two daughters, Debra Lee Brock of Alvin, Texas, and Darla Lynn Stewart of Butler; five grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; and one sister, Nomia Campbell of Butler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charles C. Grounds Jr., and Raymond D. Grounds; two brothers, Robert and Harry Hamilton; and one sister, Virginia Hamilton.
GROUNDS — Friends of Roxie Lee Grounds, who died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
